An early Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows entry (2011). It neighbors mono no aware with a different entrance: mono no aware enters through knowing things pass; ambedo enters through the senses themselves — raindrop, leaning tree, cream in coffee, until the fragility surfaces on its own.
The definition’s closing turn (see the quote) is signature DOS: two-thirds still life, then the last sentence pulls the tablecloth.
