词源etymology
仿德语铸的假币:alt(旧)+ Schmerz(痛),模子是真词 Weltschmerz—— 浪漫派传下的「世界之痛」。Weltschmerz 痛世界,altschmerz 痛「旧」: 用旧的痛,痛那些旧掉的痛。
A counterfeit struck in the German mint: alt (old) + Schmerz (pain), cast from the real coin Weltschmerz, Romanticism’s world-pain. Weltschmerz aches at the world; altschmerz aches at the old: a worn-out pain about pains worn out.
背景the story
《晦涩悲伤词典》2014 年词条。定义的胜负手是那个「soggy」(泡软了): 烦恼被咀嚼多年后失去质地——连讨厌它都提不起劲。结尾那铲子更狠: 去后院,挖点「新鲜些的痛」。
它和 kuebiko 同属借壳一族:kuebiko 借了一个真名字,altschmerz 借了一套真构词法。 出身都标在脸上(见上方注意),用的时候心里有数即可。
A 2014 Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows entry. The definition’s winning move is “soggy”: worries chewed so long they lose all texture — you can’t even dislike them with any energy. The closing shovel is crueler: wander to the backyard and dig up some fresher pain.
It belongs to the borrowed-clothes family with kuebiko: kuebiko borrowed a real name, altschmerz a real word-forge. The provenance is printed on its face (see the caution above); use it with eyes open.

「老毛病」说的是毛病本身;altschmerz 是对老毛病的腻烦——高一个台阶。 最近的结构是「审美疲劳」,只是对象换成了自己的破事: 连自己的焦虑都焦虑腻了。中文里这句现成话最传神:「连烦都烦累了。」
老毛病 names the old flaw itself; altschmerz is the weariness about it — one landing up the stairs. The nearest structure is 审美疲劳, aesthetic fatigue, with the object swapped for your own mess: bored even of your own anxieties. The readiest Chinese sentence says it best: 连烦都烦累了 — too tired even to be tired of it.
Weariness with the same old issues that you've always had — the same boring flaws and anxieties you've been gnawing on for years, which leaves them soggy and tasteless and inert, with nothing interesting left to think about, nothing left to do but spit them out and wander off to the backyard, ready to dig up some fresher pain you might have buried long ago.对那些一直伴着你的老问题的厌倦——同一批乏味的缺点和焦虑,嚼了这么多年,已经嚼得泡软、无味、僵死,再没有什么可想的了;只剩下把它们吐出来,晃去后院,挖一挖那些也许早就埋下的、新鲜些的痛。(中译) John Koenig John Koenig · The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows · 2014
Therapy hit altschmerz in year three; the problems were the same, and even resenting them was boring. 自拟例句 our own example, not a quotation His journal entries had achieved altschmerz — ten years, one complaint, increasingly well written. 自拟例句 our own example, not a quotation 词典里没有,德语里也没有——用它等于同时踩两处虚地,先交代再用。 只入随笔与闲谈;正式写作想要这个意思,写那个真词 Weltschmerz,或者老实展开成句子。
In no dictionary — and in no German either: using it means standing on two patches of thin ice at once, so disclose before you lean. Essays and banter only; in formal prose, reach for the real coin Weltschmerz, or honestly spell the feeling out.
