意识到「此刻正在变成回忆」——事情还在发生,你已经开始从将来回头看它。 The awareness that this, right now, is becoming a memory — the moment still happening, and you already looking back at it.

词源etymology

拿 déjà vu 做的手术:déjà(已经)换成 dès(自此刻起)—— 「已经见过」改写成「自此刻起被看见」。 一个借法语构词法铸的英文新词(法语里并无此语), 与 kuebiko、altschmerz 同属借壳一族——壳是真语法,词是新造的。

Surgery on déjà vu: déjà (already) swapped for dès (from this moment on) — “already seen” rewritten as “seen from now on.” An English coinage cast in French grammar (French has no such phrase), kin to kuebiko and altschmerz in the borrowed-clothes family — the shell’s grammar is real, the word is new.

背景the story

《晦涩悲伤词典》词条(约 2016 年流传开)。déjà vu 是错觉——把新的当成旧的; dès vu 是清醒——当场知道这一刻将成旧的。 旅行最后一天、毕业典礼、孩子睡前的某个瞬间: 事情还热着,你已经在替将来的自己保存它——保存这个动作本身,把你挤出了现场。

A Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows entry (circulating widely from 2016). Déjà vu is an illusion — mistaking the new for the old; dès vu is lucidity — knowing on the spot that this moment is turning old. Last day of the trip, the graduation, a certain instant before the child sleeps: the thing still warm, and you already archiving it for your future self — the archiving itself nudging you out of the room.

李商隐一联诗里藏着它的坐标:「此情可待成追忆,只是当时已惘然」—— saudade 借它讲思念,dès vu 只认领四个字:「当时已惘」。 惘然不在追忆时,就在当时——这正是 dès vu 的全部内容。 网络时代的口头禅「且行且珍惜」是它的劝告版:劝人珍惜当下; dès vu 不劝,它只报告那阵预支的怀念已经到账。

Li Shangyin’s couplet hides the coordinates: 此情可待成追忆,只是当时已惘然 — “this feeling will keep for remembering; only, at the time, it was already a blur.” saudade borrowed the couplet for longing; dès vu claims just four characters: 当时已惘 — blurred already, at the time. The daze arrives not in retrospect but on the spot — which is this word’s entire content. The internet-era refrain 且行且珍惜 is its advisory edition: it urges you to treasure the moment. dès vu urges nothing; it merely reports that the nostalgia has been debited in advance.

例句 examples
Last day of the trip, and dès vu tinted everything — she was photographing the breakfast she was still eating. 自拟例句 our own example, not a quotation

亲缘词 kin
怎么用 how to use it

不在词典中,法语里也没有——借壳词,先交代再用(音同 déjà vu 起头,别写错成它)。 写旅行终章、写毕业、写「快门比眼睛先动」的时代,它在岗。

In no dictionary — and not in French either: a borrowed-clothes word, so disclose before use (and don’t let autocorrect hand you déjà vu). For last chapters of trips, graduations, and the age of shutters quicker than eyes — it is on duty.
